Consultations & Appointments
We offer flexible, community-based support designed to help your child feel safe, prepared, and confident through medical and procedural experiences.
Appointments are tailored to your child’s needs and can take place in environments where they feel most comfortable.
-
A calm and supportive starting point for you and your child.
The initial consultation is a parent-focused session where we take time to understand your child’s experiences, needs, and your goals as a family.
Together, we create a personalised plan to support your child through upcoming or ongoing medical experiences.
What to expect
Discussion of your child’s medical experiences and concerns
Understanding your child’s temperament, strengths, and coping style
Identification of key challenges (e.g. anxiety, procedures, transitions)
-
Gentle, ongoing support tailored to your child.
Follow-up sessions focus on helping your child build confidence, understanding, and coping skills over time.
Support is flexible and adjusted based on your child’s progress and needs.
Sessions may include:
Medical and procedural preparation
Play-based learning and desensitisation
Emotional support and coping strategies
Support before, during and/or after appointments or procedures
-
Support is provided in settings that feel safe and familiar for your child:
In-home sessions
Community settings
Telehealth (where appropriate)
This approach allows support to extend into the community where your child needs the support.
-
Appointments are available on selected weekdays, with flexible options depending on your location and needs.
